Guide to Music (How, Where, and Why to Listen to It)

By: Chazypuff

Being a part of Generation Z, music is quite relevant and quite a major thing in my life and, in other people’s lives. Yet certain people from certain generations older than us don’t approve of this music due to multiple reasons:
We play the music too loud in public places meant for other things then music playing.
The music we listen too isn’t appropriate, good, or pleasant to listen too.
Music is too relevant and takes up too much of our lives.
Of course, everybody has different opinions about Generation Z and their music, and so I am going to talk from my own personal experience.
Music that Generation Z listens to consists of every music genre possible, due to the diverseness of personalities and people. This is different than older generations where if you were a specific type of person you would listen to a specific type of music, which is why many older generations do not approve of our music.
To prevent them from hearing this music, use headphones. The type of headphones is important. My personal experience with headphones is using the Apple earbuds. They work well, except people can hear your music if you turn it up to loud. Either:
Get new, soundproof headphones.
If you can’t afford new ones, turn the music down to a reasonable level, or wear a hat around the headphones.
Don’t constantly listen to music when you’re around them. Music is something I encourage people to listen to, but if that’s all you do, try doing something else also, or else older generations might think you are a worthless lazy swine. Try not to worry too much though.
Don’t bring up the music you like with older generations unless you know they like that music or they ask you about it. Be respectful to their music tastes, and don’t insult them if they like older music such as Elvis Presley, Duran Duran, or ABBA. Everybody should be able to listen to whatever music they want to listen to, but some people need a little nudge in the right direction.
