Rice Corner--22 Ways to Stay Sane This Holiday Season!

Hello! In this article, I will take a break from my usual health and wellness topic, and instead I will make a short list of some tips and tricks about the holidays. I’ve learned these over many years, and I’m really excited to share them with you!



  1. Don’t be afraid to ask for any holiday help from family or friends!
  2. Don’t overschedule during the holiday season. 
  3. Make a list….
  4. ...and check it twice
  5. Let your sons/daughters help you with any holiday tasks. 
  6. Help others in need of assistance.
  7. Get get holiday tasks done early--don’t procrastinate.
  8. Stop and breathe--you need to take time to calm down. 
  9. Donate your time to people who need help. 
  10. Do good in the world--volunteering is a great way to give back this holiday season. 
  11. Put yourself and your needs ahead of others sometimes.
  12. Trust other people, it is the season to be jolly!
  13. Don’t be afraid to be the boss/leader during holiday tasks.
  14. Hire a babysitter (For your sons/daughters--not yourself)
  15. Set money aside for later. 
  16. Set limits and boundaries during the holiday season. 
  17. Know that you can’t do EVERYTHING. Don’t feel pressured to get everything done on time. 
  18. See the holiday magic! 
  19. Don’t freak out--stay calm. Everything will be okay. 
  20. Smile a little bit--it’s a great way to spread joy and happiness. 
  21. During the year, take notes on presents your loved ones may like--then you aren’t worrying as much about who gets what gift. 
  22. Go outside and play!
